English: During an SCTP peer restart, the kernel can free a cached address-reconfiguration request but keep its pointer. A delayed authenticated acknowledgement can then use and release the object again. A VPS administrator can enable the required protocol features, and exploitation could potentially give a process root inside the VPS or compromise the shared node kernel. The reviewed Linux record and fix do not establish a complete node escape or a specific route to another VPS. Failed attempts can crash the shared kernel. Kernel warnings that may indicate this bug was triggered are monitored. |
| Česky: Při restartu protějšku SCTP může jádro uvolnit uložený požadavek na změnu adres, ale ponechat na něj ukazatel. Opožděné ověřené potvrzení pak může objekt znovu použít a uvolnit. Potřebné funkce protokolu může správce VPS zapnout a zneužití by mohlo procesu umožnit získat root ve VPS nebo ovládnout sdílené jádro node. Analyzovaný záznam Linuxu a oprava nepopisují úplný postup úniku na node ani konkrétní cestu k jinému VPS. Neúspěšný pokus může shodit sdílené jádro. Varování jádra, která mohou naznačovat spuštění této chyby, jsou monitorována. |

English: The correction first appears in vpsAdminOS kernel live patch 6.12.95.6. The upstream 6.12 branch includes the correction from Linux 6.12.104. It clears the cached ASCONF pointer and safely ignores a timer expiry left over from the cleared request. Namespace-local SCTP controls can be changed by a VPS administrator, so host defaults do not prevent this path. |
| Česky: Oprava je součástí vpsAdminOS kernel live patche od verze 6.12.95.6. Ve větvi Linuxu 6.12 je oprava obsažena od verze 6.12.104. Vymaže uložený ukazatel ASCONF a bezpečně přeskočí doběhnutí časovače pro již odstraněný požadavek. Nastavení SCTP ve vlastním síťovém jmenném prostoru může správce VPS změnit, takže výchozí hodnoty na hostiteli této cestě nebrání. |
