English: A VPS administrator can mount CephFS from a cluster they control. If the cluster renews a larger service ticket, the kernel client can retain the address of its old authorizer buffer after that buffer is freed. A later protocol-v1 reconnect may send released shared-kernel memory to the cluster. This disclosure does not directly provide root inside the VPS, but the released memory could contain data from the node or another VPS. The reviewed technical evidence does not establish a path to root on the node or control of another VPS. The use-after-free may crash the shared kernel and affect node availability. Kernel warnings that may indicate this bug was triggered are monitored. |
| Česky: Správce VPS může připojit CephFS z clusteru, který ovládá. Pokud cluster obnoví větší servisní ticket, klient v jádře si může ponechat adresu starého bufferu authorizeru i po jeho uvolnění. Pozdější opětovné připojení protokolem verze jedna může clusteru poslat uvolněnou paměť sdíleného jádra. Tento únik sám o sobě nezajistí root uvnitř VPS, ale uvolněná paměť může obsahovat data node nebo jiného VPS. Analyzované technické podklady nepopisují postup k získání root na node ani k ovládnutí jiného VPS. Přístup do uvolněné paměti může shodit sdílené jádro a ovlivnit dostupnost node. Varování jádra, která mohou naznačovat spuštění této chyby, jsou monitorována. |

English: The fix for this CVE is included starting with vpsAdminOS kernel live patch 6.12.95.2. The Ceph client now refreshes the cached authorizer address and length after rebuilding the buffer. Upstream Linux includes the fix in 6.12.101 and later stable releases. |
